Update
For those looking for getting the Edifier 2.0 R2850DB speakers.
Buy also two resistors of 8.2 Ohm 27 watts. Carefully remove the screws on the midrange drives and extract them, unsolder one wire from it, solder the resistor and the wire to the other end of the resistor. (series circuit).
This way the midrange will no longer scream so loud, you'll get very nice control of the treble if it needs boosted like I need, and the woofer stays at 0 (centre). Excellent sound!
@yesdotsampr The older we get, the closer our hearing range gets to the elephants' 👴🐘 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Having to use the bass at 0 and the treble at max, still not enough brilliance compared to the vintage system. But that's because of my own damaged hearing. THe bass is there, it goes really low with my room's acoustics perceiving 31Hz without issues.
But no more phase cancellation, and the stereo field WHOAH! 🥰🥰🥰🤣
I watched this video. Now I understand why they are using such a long cable for the left side, with 5 pin connector, if the output is from a separate amp. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsEnel79esg
What I'm ready for, to miss the deep bass my vintage setup was giving (18-40 Hz), and the strong treble coming from 6 tweeters. But if the 42-20000 Hz range is really there (although I am no longer hear above 12 kHz from the tumour and also age related hearing loss), the new system might be good enough to mix/master my next production.
